Biography
Dr. Donald Kobayashi has served as Chair of the Department of Plant Biology since 2016. He contributes to teaching and student advising within the Undergraduate Programs in Plant Science, and Biotechnology, as well as the Graduate Program in Plant Biology. Dr. Kobayashi's research program falls within the discipline of Plant Pathology, specializing in plant microbiology. Current research activity in his laboratory focuses on characterizing bacterial plant pathogens and the diseases they cause, especially in the greater northeast region of the US.
