An Interdisciplinary Program
Program Overview
Training in the Undergraduate Program in Biotechnology is centered in applied genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology with options to focus in various application areas. The curriculum includes lab-based courses in molecular genetics, genetic engineering, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, microbiology, biochemistry and others with applications in medicine, biopharmaceutics, agriculture and environmental mediation. Our students go on to medical, dental or graduate schools in various related areas. Many enter the biopharmaceutical industry or other biotechnology-dependent industries with environmental or agricultural focus.
